A walk through Florence

Arrive at the lively Piazza Santa Maria Novella and proceed through the Croce al Trebbio Square, Palazzo Strozzi and Davanzati, Palagio di Parte Guelfa by Brunelleschi, Ponte Vecchio, the "Jewellers' Bridge", Piazzale degli Uffizi, Piazza della Signoria, and the famous Palazzo Vecchio. Finishing up with a visit of the Orsanmichele Church, and Piazza Duomo, with the Cathedral, St. John’s Baptistery, and Giotto's Bell-tower.

 

The Galeria degli Uffizi and the Loggia dei Lanzi

The « Galeria degli Uffizi » is one of the most important museums of Italy. You will discover a treasure of 2500 pictures showing the evolution of painting from Renaissance to the XVIIIth century, sculptures and stunning tapestries. Then you can visit the “Loggia”, small open gallery with arcades, columns and statues, situated on the side of the Galeria.

 

Morning Visit of Florence

Cathedral, Giotto's bell tower, the Baptistery with its bronze doors, the Palazzo Pitti, and a the celebrated Palatine Gallery, housing works of Botticelli, Raphael, Titian, Rubens, Murillo, Velasquez and others. Then a panoramic view of the Boboli Gardens.

 

Afternoon visit of Florence

Brief visit to Fiesole, a delightful town of Etruscan origin. A visit to the Franciscan Church of Santa Croce to admire the tombs of Michelangelo, Machiavelli, Galileo and Rossini among others; Then off to the Gallery of the Academy to admire the original David by Michelangelo.

 

Pisa

Travel through picturesque Tuscan countryside to the historic university city of Pisa. Visit the Piazza dei Cavalieri and the Scuola Normale, one of the most famous universities in the world. Continue on to Piazza dei Miracoli to the famous Leaning Tower, Cathedral (visit inside), Baptistery and other sites.

 

Chianti Area

Tuscany, renowned for its countryside of unequalled beauty, that alternates woods with vines and olive trees, where Romanesque Churches, farmhouses, villas and castles of rare beauty are to be found. A visit to a historic and artistic village, and of one of the most known castle farms with a snack and tasting of its prestigious wines.

 

Siena & San Gimignano

Experience the delightful Chianti countryside with rolling scenery of vineyards and olive trees. Visit San Gimignano before heading to Siena. A guided visit the Cathedral, Piccolomini Library, Opera Metropolitana Museum, Piazza del Campo, Town Hall, and the old medieval village of Monteriggioni.

 


Lucca and villas

Visit the elegant and refined art city of Lucca and take a delightful walk along the famous 16th century walls. Visits include the medieval Church of San Frediano, the Torre Guinigi, the Cathedral of San Martino, and the Church of San Michele in Foro and in the historic centre at the house where composer Giacomo Puccini was born. After lunch (not included), visit the splendid villas surrounding the city.

 

Florence by night with supper and music
