In the heart of Rome, a small island, the Tiber Island: its particular form of a ship's prow and the legend of its formation fascinates the traveler and are just two the attractions of the place. On this island we find the church of St.Bartolomè, known for the legend of the ship of Aesculapius and the shrine dedicated to her stories, episodes and characters between myth and reality, directly in the heart of the ancient and modern city. On the left bank of the river, the Ghetto, set up under Pope Paul IV Carafa in 1555 and disbanded in the mid 19th century by Pope Pius IX. Not far from Piazza Mattei, characterized by the Fountain of the Turtles, transformed by Gian Lorenzo Bernini in the 17th century.
