Day 1 Rome/Siena/Florence
Departure around 07:00 am to the mystical town of Assisi surrounded by ancient Middle Ages walls and the Basilica of St. Francis, with the masterpieces of Giotto and Cimabue. Leisure time to visit. We continue to Siena, gothic city constructed on three hills in the heart of Tuscany. This monumental and medieval city is encircled by ancient walls and is famous for its Cathedral and its splendid Piazza del Campo, designed in the shape of a shell. Every year, the famous Palio takes place here. Off to Florence for your dinner and overnight. (D)
Day 2 Florence
Morning city tour of the “Cradle of Renaissance” with its Dome by Brunelleschi, Giotto’s bell-tower, and the Baptistery. Our Florence visit continues with sights of: Piazza della Signoria, Palazzo Vecchio, and finally the Santa Croce church. In the afternoon, an optional excursion to Pisa. This graceful town reflects its past through the famous Piazza del Campo, better known as the “Square of Miracles” where we find the Cathedral, the Leaning Tower of Pisa, and the Baptistery. Dinner and overnight. (B, D)
Day 3 Florence/Bologna/Padova/Venice
After breakfast, en route to Bologna who has one of the best-preserved historic centers in Italy, famous for it's arcaded streets. Bologna is a university town with a reputation as Italy's culinary center. We continue to Padua and visit St. Anthony’s Basilica. In the afternoon, continue on to Venice and overnight at your hotel. Day 4 Venice
Today we visit this mysterious city built on 117 islands, 150 canals, and 400 bridges. You will board a vaporetto up to St Marks Square where our walking tour will begin. Sights include: At Marks Square, the Doge’s Palace (external) and the Bridge of Sighs. Then we will stop in one of the famous shops of Murano glass to see the artisans. Afternoon at leisure. Overnight at your hotel. (B, D)
Day 5 Venice/Region of Chianti-Montepulciano/Tuscany/Rome
After breakfast, we journey the famous region of Chianti in Tuscany. Chianti Classico Wine Region is an area that has miles and miles of hill topped medieval villages and valleys covered in vines, all between the two beautiful cities of Florence and Siena. You will encounter plenty of 600-year-old olive trees, estates, monasteries and castles. We will pass the town of Pievi and then stop in the town of Montepulciano, a famous city situated in the north of Val d’Orcia, known for its red Brunello wine. For wine and jazz lovers, in July there is the Jazz and Wine festival. Tasting of local wine. Time at leisure. In the evening arrival in Rome. End of our service.
